Working on that model from Lee Rosario (and fixing many errors)

Should be very impressive once completed. :)

Here is the original Blend model, to compare with the OR version once completed ;)

Thank you! :)

This is how it looks in ObjReader now with CSAA anti-aliasing. The red tint is due to brightness/contrast PP applied to suppress too high material brightness that Blender exports when the model is designed to be rendered with the Cycles renderer.

The material file has not been modified in any way except textures were added where available. The textures embedded in the model are attached in the zip below.

The model exported from Blender directly to OBJ doesn't seem to display any geometry flaws, so frankly, I don't really see any reason for "fixing many errors"...

Just a few of them...

Check for the text symetry on the two side of the bike (once seating on the bike, the left side is good, but the right side is wrong).
Look at the leather mesh, it is full of errors.
There are missing sculptures on both front and back tire, and with their correponding leds.
Grid alignments are totaly unreal, especially the one from the back panel.
If you look closely to the dashboard, you will see that it is full of pictograms matching a car thermic engine.
etc.

Some of these oddities are even worse in version 3, look at the ridiculous front wheel direction, and tell me how you would drive such a bike?

LOL but Mr Lee Rosario is only a concept designer and not a real motorcyclist, after all...  ;D

Of course you're correct, my friend! Now that you've pushed my muzzle into my own sh#t I, as a true master of my words, have nothing left to do but take them back. :D

P.S. I'm assuming you've learned how to extract the maps embedded in a blend?

Yes, but i have created my own texture set for the purpose of symetry with better checker board quality and color.

Here is my first release candidate OR version.

Brake discs are totaly wrong, and misaligned.  >:(

Here is the newest release candidate version, that was a long process...
(many reworked meshes for the purpose of decimation, and more realistic wheels)

Patrice,

I don't want to sound nit-picking but this is the exact case when a genuine normal map should be baked from the rubber tires before decimation and then applied to the decimated tire mesh instead of the neutral_bump map that's there now. Those decimated tires look awfully poor with those random normals... :(

(the DL speed is terribly slow tonight, ca. 140KB per second... :o)

I have sent a message asking why the speed is so slow, waiting for the answer...

About the tire details, this is because i have used accutrans rather than the c4d version that is x 2.5 bigger.
I shall add AO to the tires in the final version.

Here is a screen shot of the final C4D version.

So far, no answer about the download speed problem  ???

The models looks great from this distance! :)

Still, I will be able to tell you my final impression only when I can lay my hands on it and scrutinize it under ObjReader's light sources.

Re. DL speed, I can't say definitely but judging by how long it took my browser to restore the above screenshot thumbnail to its full size, it still remains low.

I have uploaded the final verion, with almost the same speed as i am accustomed too, and this one is much larger than the previous release candidate.

I'm sorry to say it but it's taking me an estimated 15+ minutes to download a 102-MB model zip at less than a 100KB per second speed over my 100Mb/sec landline. :(

I'm obviously in the same situation I was a year ago when your British hosting provider started to blindly and indiscriminately block their servers from the Eastern European domains. >:(

P.S. Downloading ended 13.2 minutes after it had started. Tell them I am not impressed at all. ;)

Almost the same by me when downloading  :(

Uploading was much faster, that sounds very strange...

And so far, no answer from the UK, i shall check again with Bob tomorrow afternoon (have to go to the hospital in the morning with my wife)

Patrice,

This final version does look very, very neat! :)

Thanks a lot for sharing the great work you've done!
