OpenGL or Direct3D? I Guess Neither!
« on: December 12, 2018, 03:26:54 pm »
You know what?

I have every reason to believe that CrazyBump including its material preview window is neither an OpenGL nor Direct3D application. At least Fraps and GLinterceptor do not recognize or hook it as such. Nor does Process Explorer reveal any 3D HW acceleration library dependencies in its process tree. And it seems like it consumes nearly 0 per cent GPU where it should've eaten up dozens if it were just another OGL/D3D app.

I think it may well be a 100% GDI/GDI+ application though its author must be a real high class graphics guru to have all those premium features implemented in it without a dedicated graphics library. :)
