Mike

Could you please convert this max file to either fbx or obj, preserving QUADs

Thanks !

Hi Patrice,

The .MAX file has no matching tex maps so the materials are deficient.

The .FBX file is saved in the FBX 2012 format (I can save in an up to 2018 format). Hopefully your C4D can read it.

The .MAT material names are dummies but the meshes per se are preserved, and the mesh names can be deduced in the .OBJ file from the respective "object" (= mesh) names.

Both FBX and OBJ exports are quadrangulated as requested and are claimed to be optimized for C4D.

No, we will definitely continue working on it though in parallel with some other ideas.

I have renamed my copy of OR project to ObjReader64_FBO.

Re. F40, according to my 3ds Max, its materials have been designed for the V-Ray ray tracer plugin and as such they are of little to no value for direct OpenGL rendering. That's why the .MAT file is so poor in materials. The original .MAX model is displayed in sculpting clay. Unfortunately shit happens very often with free models that remain thus useless for anyone except their creators.

This is more a backup than a RC, however you can already see the amount of work that has been done.

Very elegant! :)

1) Why wouldn't you generate dedicated normal maps for the red seats and leather?

2) As a matter of fact, night.png is the default background in Zbrush, and day.png, in Vue. That's why I added them to the OR stock resources. :)

(the Abrams model is very cool too!)
