Talbot Lago T26 1949

This was my first childhood Solido model

The original was a single monobloc STL file (no asset, and no texture), with the left and right side inverted !!!

Patrice,

Not only do all your recent models look gorgeous in ObjReader but they also render perfectly fine in my Objector. Thank you very much for your generous work that's bringing me lots of fun with every model you upload. :)

Here is the original monobloc STL file, that was using a wrong format, that i fixed first with the help of the free Windows "3D Builder", before i could import it into c4d to recreate all the individual assets, and start adding the missing ones plus the textures creation done in PhotoShop.

I would like to produce ground shadow like in "3D builder", do you have any suggestion?

I have been able to produce VIDEO using the nVIDIA "ShadowPlay" utility, with ObjReader in maximized mode, because it is the only way to capture the OpenGL view port with this utility that is written first to capture Direct 3D games.

Looks not too bad from this perspective, I must admit ... :)

Are those stencil shadows? Antialiased? Can you provide an expanded (magnified) view of the shadow border penumbra?

Adding shadows directly to ObjReader/Objector wouldn't be such a difficult task but we would have to upgrade the GLSL pipeline to more advanced methods of PBO/FBO rendering and post-processing. In this way we could also obtain yet more visual effects with lighting such as glow, bokeh, HDR and the like.

Yep, that would be very nice additions, but so far i do not have the expertise to do it myself in GLSL.

I have updated the car ZIP model with the shadow version and the "Louis Rosier" pilot name, i am using a transparent ground texture to perform the effect, no real projection, but from most view angles the illusion is very good, especially because i am using the "multiple light sources" mode.

You ARE a cheater Patrice,

But oh my God, this looks real COOL!

Excellentissimo!!! :D

Patrice, I'm currently doing a lot of work for FBSL but I think I'll be through with it in the next perhaps 10 or 15 days. That was something I've been avoiding for too long and I must finally do it now, better late than never. I promise to dive into the GLSL shadows et al. as soon as I'm through. Would that be all right with you?

I have updated the zip file again, with a reworked shadow plus the car race number 14.

She's beautiful, Patrice!

You know, I don't regret a single day we've spent on the OxygenBasic forum learning how to be able to create and decently display such beauties. :)

Thanks a lot for sharing!
